Our advice is always to fill your pond using a water meter at first fill. However, the following is the most accurate calculation - you convert feet to inches, multiply length x width x depth, then divide by 277 i.e. 12' x 6' x 5' is 144" x 72" x 60" = 622080 divide by 277 = 2245 gallons/10,102 litres. Same formula can be used for fish tanks etc. but DO make allowances for aquarium decorations.
