The choice of filters is vast, i.e. gravity/pump fed, bubblebeads, multi-bays, Nexus etc. The sizing is the essential part of planning a pond. A good filter will have both mechanical and biological stages. The mechanical part of the filter should prevent solids from entering the biological stage. A working filter will use more oxygen than the pond itself, this is why we suggest an additional air supply to the pond and filtration system. Each pond is unique and the most important part is the filtration system.
