Install a Sieve
A sieve must be installed on a flat level base. The height of the sieve from the base must be approximately 5mm above water level if using a gravity fed model. The sieve is connected to the bottom drain directly, then water is pumped out of the sieve into the filter system. Sieves are ideal pre-filter before any bead filter. How the sieve works is whatever water is taken out of the bottom of the sieve is then replaced by water coming in through the floating weir. We suggest you choose a sieve with a floating weir as this allows it to keep working even if the water level drops 4-5" in the main pool. The models with floating weirs are the only ones we sell.
